    Since 1983, Freestyle America coaching programs have grown to become a thorough curriculum of skill training for freestyle skiing, including moguls, freeride, and aerials.

Freestyle America is the longest continuously operating freestyle camp in America. Since 1983, Freestyle America coaching programs have grown to become a thorough curriculum of skill training for freestyle skiing, including moguls, freeskiing, and aerials.

The objective is to offer coaching programs that focus on the acrobatic elements required to succeed in domestic and international competition. To accomplish this, Freestyle America programs occur at the premier training locations of North America, including the Lake Placid Olympic Jumping Complex, Horstman Glacier at Whistler/Backcomb ski area, and at our incomparable trampoline facility at the Mountain Fare Inn in Campton, New Hampshire.

Whistler Slopestyle Camp, Just Announced

We are pleased to announce a new camp opportunity for freeskiers at our premier Whistler Camp. Join us, July 5th through July 14th for 7 days of slopestyle training on Momentum’s superb slopestyle venues.

This program, coached by former AFP pro, WVA freeskiing coach, and Northface winner, James Campbell, includes all your lane access, coaching, meals, lodging, and transportation to and from Vancouver airport.

Access to 5 slopestyle lanes on Showcase, the coaching, lodging at Lorimer Ridge, and the Whistler lifestyle combine to make for the best summer training experience anywhere. The cost for this camp is $2,360, which includes everything, except 3 dinner nights out (which is at the athlete’s own expense) and your air fare.

2014 Coaches & Special Guest Athletes Announced!

Freestyle America Coaches & Guest AthletesFreestyle America owners and directors, Nick and Suzi Preston, are proud to offer athletes this outstanding line-up for 2014. For the Trampoline and Bag Jump Camps in New Hampshire, Nick will be joined by Colin Campbell, Bruce Bolesky, James Campbell and Dillon Lovell, all experienced coaches with a strong Freestyle America history. Special guests include Olympian Devin Logan, US Team athlete Allison Lee,  and AFP freeskiers Brent Whipple, Tim Ryan, and Tyler Mega. Our Lake Placid Ramp Camps, in addition to Nick and Colin, feature coaches Mark DePeters and Rob Reihl.

Whistler 2014 offers an unparalleled group of staff, coaches, and guests, which in addition to Nick and Suzi Preston, mogul coach Dillon Lovell and freeskiing coach, James Campbell, include Olympians Hannah Kearney and Eliza Outtrim, and US Team skier Jeremy Cota.

Freestyle America camps feature a staff of expert coaches, whose task is to deliver the curriculum and training methods specific to each camp’s format. All camp coaches are USSA licensed, assuring athletes and parents the highest level of professionalism, when teaching and managing the athletes. Director and Head Coach, Nick Preston, has designed a curriculum, that establishes goals for each athlete and documents their progress throughout each camp. Nick has received coaching awards from USSA and the USOC, and is recipient of USSA’s Russell Wilder Award for his contribution to youth sports in skiing. Assisting the coaches and lending inspiration and support to the athletes are special guests from the US Ski Team and from the elite ranks of free skiing.

Locations, venues, and features are important, but it is the expertise of the coaches, the curriculum that comprise the coaching program, and the individualized attention to each athlete that are the hallmark of Freestyle America camps. Risk is ever present in skiing and acrobatics, the coaching staff strives to maintain the quality of each training  venue with oversight to uphold strict safety standards for all camp activities.

Welcome to Summer 2014

Welcome, we look forward to seeing you this summer. The earlier in the summer, the better. The following is a brief overview of the exciting training opportunities being offered.

The Lake Placid Water Ramp Series of camps are limited to 15 athletes in each program, these often fill early. This series of 4 camps offers a 5 to 1 coach to athlete ratio at the Olympic Jumping Complex in Lake Placid. The water ramps and the trampoline facilities are world class. Water ramping still remain one of the most valuable activities for all freestyle aerials and acrobatics.

The Trampoline & Bagjump Camps 1 through 3 occur at Freestyle America’s Mountain Fare Inn on 5 trampolines, a dry slope training facility, an air bag, conditioning, field games, and lodging and meals. The 1 week experience is incomparably valuable and fun. This will be the 34th season of these camps, which get better every year.

Tramp Camp includes training at the Waterville Valley Academy Bag Jump and Trampoline training facility. The WVA campus has just added and opened a spectacular indoor trampoline and fitness gym, the Tom Barbeau Training Center. The WVA facilities are an added benefit to all Freestyle America Trampoline Camps.

Whistler skiers know that 2 weeks of training in July are the most valuable training weeks of the year. The mogul course is consistently excellent , and ready for 200 practice runs, and 100 jumps. For the free skiers, the lane will feature a jump line. Combined and free skiers shall also train slope on Momentum features adjacent to our lane.
